Albert Obbuyi
Albert Obbuyi is a social and community health and development expert with over 25 years of experience designing and implementing evidence-based programs for local, regional, and international populations.
His main area of focus has been adolescent and youth sexual and reproductive health (AYSRH). From 2011-2022, he was the Director of the Centre for the Study of Adolescence (CSA) in Kenya, which seeks to promote and improve the health and well-being of young people through innovative research, evidence-based programming, capacity-building, policy development, and advocacy.
His key competencies include program design and management, fundraising, report writing, organizational and professional development, advocacy[,] and research. He established robust donor relations with global funders, including USAID, CIFF, DFiD, the Dutch sexuality expert centre Rutgers, the International Planned Parenthood Federation, the US Embassy, the Packard Foundation, the Swedish sexuality institute, [Save→save] the Children, and SIDA, among others. He previously worked for the German Technical Cooperation (GIZ), Care International[,] and the French agency Handicap International.
